Child detectives Henry, Violet, Jessie, and Benny leave their hometown of Connecticut to travel to Seattle with their grandfather on a business trip. The children find a series of notes hidden throughout the Emerald City. Finding clues and solving each riddle draws them closer to solving another mystery.
I recommend this book for ages nine and up because it is easy to read with short chapters. The suspense throughout the story evokes the imagination of the reader while also motivating young readers to be as responsible and independent as the Alden children are. This is another fun read about the legendary Boxcar Children. (Trade Book)
